WAIT before you run ads, do this.
I asked on Instagram what you wanted to see from me next and many of you said you wanted to see content about what you need set up before you run ads.
If you're thinking, "hold up, idk if I even should be running ads yet." Read this blog post first.
So, let's answer the burning question:
Why do I need anything set up before running ads?
Advertising is a way to drive people towards making an action, but advertising typically isn't the be-all and end-all for results.
Ads get clicked on, but it's the steps after that convert your audience.
Let's break it down:
1. Your ideal audience sees your advertisement.
2. They like the advertisement, so they click on it.
3. They arrive on your website.
4. They take the action you want them to on your website.
5. They enter into your email nurture/waitlist/however you capture info.
Your advertisement is only in the first 2 steps of this customer journey.
So, think about it, after your audience clicks on your ad what do you need to set up so that they have an easy experience?
A mobile-optimized website
A website/landing page that clearly relates to your advertisement
A clear CTA on your website (that doesn't require scrolling)
An email nurture sequence (whether it's after a freebie download or website purchase, you should email saying something)
Once you have these things set up, it's smooth sailing for your advertising. (And honestly, you'll probably have a campaign that's performing above average)
NOTICE I did NOT say:
🙅🏽♀️ You need to have at least 10K followers
🙅🏽♀️ You need to be getting hundreds of likes on your posts
🙅🏽♀️ You have to use IG reels
🙅🏽♀️ You need heaps of ad spend
These, my friends, are vanity metrics and unrelated elements to FB ads. The IG algorithm is doing its best, but that doesn't mean it's showing your content in all the right places all the time.
Remember, just because one post didn't perform well, doesn't mean there isn't an audience for your biz. Just because you don't have 10K followers doesn't mean your ads won't perform.
YES, proof of concept is excellent to have. But give yourself some grace. You don't need to be at 6 figures to run ads. You don't need to have 10 clients at the same time for proof of concept. Ultimately, you just need to have a community of people that like what you're doing and want to see more of it. BAM. ✨ Proof of concept ✨
Mini Case Study:
I had a jewelry client, and they reached $30K in sales on average every month from Facebook Ads. They had about 4000 followers on Instagram and averaged out at about 20 likes per post.
People who saw the advertisements saw the value in the product.
My client didn't let the IG algorithm hold them back from investing in their biz, and you shouldn't either.
I teach the same strategy that I used on this client in my FB Ads course. Click here to learn more about the course!
