How to sell when only 35% of people are reading your caption π
It's tragic, but it's true.
Only about 35% of people will read your caption.
To say attention spans are decreasing is an understatement.
BUT there is hope. Have you ever heard the saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words"?
It's literally never been more true. Most people have already decided if they want to purchase your offer before they read your caption. If they do end up reading your caption, it's typically to reinforce their purchase decision.
Does that mean captions don't matter? NO. Captions matter, but you need to draw people in with your image in order to get people to read them.
Here are a few tips for selling more using visuals:
1. Use the image or graphic of your ad or social post to fully explain the value of your offer. It should show the full transformation. If that means using a carousel post or creating a talking reel, do it!
2. Test. My anthem is to test content. Test if solely a product image brings in new customers, test if it's half image, half graphic, test video content, etc., etc. How else will you know what resonates with your audience?
3. Invest in things to make it easy. I hired a brand photographer a few months ago, and it was one of the best investments I've made for my business. My website looks so much better, and I'm so much happier with the images I'm posting online. I invested, and I'm stoked with how much time and sanity it saved me. You can (and should) do the same!
