4 things I've learned in my 6 years of having a business🤯
It's true. I started freelancing when I was 20 years old. I wasn't done university yet but I wanted a side gig so I could make money and get real experience in marketing.
I've been so blessed with the people I've met and the work I've had the opportunity to do, BUT I also worked hard. Like really f*cking hard.
Finding work, balancing full-time school then a full-time job all while freelancing wasn't easy. But dang, does all that work ever benefit me now 🥰
I've been full time in my business for almost 2 years. This year I've officially doubled my full-time corporate income.
But what am I most proud of?
I LOVE MY JOB.
It doesn't feel like work to me anymore. It feels like something I *get* to do, not something I *have* to do.
Here are the 4 things I've learned from 6 years in business:
1. You can't get what you don't ask for.
This can relate to so many different parts of life, but right now I'm seeing it in entrepreneurs with their audiences. They want their audience to take action so badly, but it's not positioned in a way that makes it easy. You gotta be persistent and position it so your audience can give an easy 'yes'.
2. If you believe you're stuck, you'll stay stuck.
The stories we tell ourselves can be the most harmful or liberating. I see people feeling stuck at their jobs, in their marketing, and in their personal life all the time. There's always more than one way to approach a situation. You. Are. Never. Stuck.
3. The moment you start caring for yourself more than what others think of you will be the moment you succeed.
Whether it be posting on social media, wearing that wacky yet impressive outfit in the back of your closet, or speaking up for what you believe in, YOU deserve to act in a way that lights YOU up. Because once you stop caring what that mean girl from high school thinks of you, you'll begin to attract like-minded people that look up to you.
4. Who you surround yourself with will propel you into the next phase of your life.
Seeking out people that will raise you up and support you will change everything. We're not always kind to ourselves, and that's human, but we can & should seek out others that are kind to us. Feeling that external support will change your inner narrative. There are people out there waiting to cheer you on, you just need to find them.
I hope you found those 4 little tidbits helpful. Let me know if any of them resonated with you in your business journey 🤗
I try to incorporate these 4 elements into everything I do in my business. At the end of the day, I want to make people feel GOOD. The transformation I get to witness when my students take empowered action or when my clients are finally connecting with their dream audience is a feeling that's unmatched.
