Email Anxiety: What it is and how to get rid of it

Email Anxiety defined: Feeling fear when checking your inbox & an inability to stop yourself from checking it. Typically it's from receiving mentally exhausting emails in the past.

STOP working with people that send rude emails. STOP working with people that tear you down over minor mistakes. It's more expensive in stress than in loss of income.

Here's the deal: If you get some negative feedback from someone, it's a good idea to respond quickly and politely. BUT... if that person sends you an email that is rude, hostile or insulting, don't waste another minute trying to put out their fire.

Use Boomerang with your Gmail to pause your account so you can't check your email.

If you really want to get things done, you need to remove distractions. For example, it’s easy for new Gmail users to spend all day in the inbox without getting any work done. One way to avoid this is by using Boomerang with your Gmail account.

Boomerang allows you to schedule emails to be sent out at a later time. It also allows you to pause your Gmail account so you can’t check it. This is a great way to ensure that you won't be distracted by your incoming email messages while working on other projects.

Just because it's in your inbox doesn't mean it's urgent. You don't need to reply right away.

Recognize that you are safe even if your email is unsettling. You'll be ok. I promise.
